Princess Charlene of Monaco Speaks on a World Where Every Girl Can Dream Freely

On Sunday, March 8, the Principality showed its strong and united support for women’s rights from Princess Charlene to grassroots groups across.

Princess Charlène sent a clear message for International Women’s Day: “We forget too often that women’s power doesn’t need to be created; it needs to be freed.” Equality is not a gift it is a right that everyone should have and use to its fullest. The wife of Prince Albert II ended with a wish for the future: “On this 8 March my wish is simple: that every little girl can grow up without barriers or obstacles.”

Mobilization of the whole Principality

On Sunday, the Sovereign wasn’t the only one who spoke out. Several people from Monaco chose March 8 to show their support again publicly. Pink Ribbon Monaco, an organization she is an honorary president of, honored “all the extraordinary women” who work to support women’s health every day by witnessing, raising awareness, and funding research. “Your voices, your dedication and your bravery make this movement possible. “We keep going together for awareness prevention research, and our future,” said Natasha Frost-Savio, the group’s president.

The Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights also said again that its work isn’t just for one day. After putting on Powher Day at the Espace Léo Ferré on March 6, it asked everyone to “celebrate, share, and support women’s rights initiatives all year long.” Céline Cottalorda said that day, “March 8 is a date one day in the year.” But women’s rights are important all year long. What matters is the cause we fight for and being together.

Béatrice Fresko-Rolfo, chair of the Committee on Women’s Rights, Family, and Equality, talked about the progress of legislation on the National Council side and the goals of elected officials for 2026. This showed that institutional commitment is also a long-term goal. “Women’s rights are never fully gained.” “They are built, made stronger and protected,” she said.
